Biblical Studies
The Biblical Studies Program gives students a solid foundation of biblical interpretation by offering courses on every book of the bible. Students receive instruction in biblical exegesis as well as philosophical and practical theological categories that will aid them in their respective field.
Missiology
The Missiology Program carefully evaluates the successes and failures of the “missions” paradigm of the previous century and seeks to offer new alternatives.
The failure to produce a Spirit led movement by earlier missions’ efforts due to the westernizing practices of our denominations has led our program to challenge said paradigm. Our paradigm is one of incarnation; this we teach our students the importance of adapting to the culture of the group to whom they are reaching out. For this reason, we require students to study the language of the people whom they plan to serve.
Masters of Theological Studies
This program is designed for the missionary that is interested in impacting the society where he/she lives at the highest levels. The candidate is guided through the major aspects of theology that will assist them in their pursuit of evangelical missions work.
Masters of Missiology
The Masters of Missiology program is designed for the missionary who desires to further his or her understanding of global issues related to mission work. The program exposes the student to the study of anthropology, sociology and psychology as means to understand the culture and customs of the world’s peoples. The student will be given the skills necessary to become an effective missionary through both practical and theological courses. Upon completion, the student can expect to affect the society where he or she lives at a highest level. This program is a “Third World” community development program with an emphasis in cross-cultural anthropological research. It is tailored for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in missiological studies. Upon graduation, the student will have engaged in graduate level research commensurate to do his or her degree.
Childbirth Education Certification
Our Childbirth Education Program is a certification program designed to address the maternal and infant mortality rates in developing countries by equipping students with knowledge and understanding concerning pregnancy, childbirth, the post-partum period, and lactation in order to empower women to have healthy childbearing years.
Participating students receive this training in childbirth education in order to become ‘Certified Childbirth Educators’. The graduates of our program will gain experience developing curriculum, instructing, and supporting expecting families here and abroad, through holistic childbirth education.
Our students can expect to use their ‘certified training’ as Certified Childbirth Educators in the United States and developing nations. Their training may also serve as a foundation to build upon for those interested in midwifery, doula support, lactation education, and/or other realms of service within the maternal health field, as part of Global Outreach Developments International and other similar development organizations.
