Our story begins in the lives of our team members, who as children read books about development workers, who as young people attended meetings which revolved around the needs of poor countries, who dreamed of living a life so filled with adventure that they would never have a dull moment. Our story begins with dreams of helping the people of China, Burma, Nepal and Thailand, even Africa, all culminating in a more focused and collaborative effort to serve those who live in the sub-continent of south asia called India.
This collaboration of dreams, meetings and adventures began for this movement when a team of two, took their first trip to India in 2004, and a team of 10 in 2006. It was during the first few trips where the cultural diversity and uniqueness of India and its people became all too apparent and enticing – we loved it and we were hooked! Purposeful team expeditions to learn the language, culture, geography and people would follow these initial ones, charted the course for our plans in the near future when we hope to have a full time presence in India.
