Our Approach

Our approach in Latin America is to come alongside of the poor and oppressed. These persons suffer a lack of basic necessities while living on the edge of the ‘dollarized’ blossoming city.  The corporate powers of developed nations have become the major cause of the deplorable condition of the poor in Latin America.   Corporate interests have been maintained at the expense of the people, resulting in the devaluing of their labor.  Particularly in El Salvador, hard work is not enough for the basic necessities considering makes $5 a day in a market of costs similar to the United States.  It’s the construction working, father of four that suffers the victimization of globalization.  We want to join hands with the poor and help them develop a community of self-sacrificial love.  Helping to produce an opportunity for people to work in cooperation for the betterment of the whole.

Our spiritual practice is nonviolent and serves to liberate the poor from the injustice of their suffering. This practice is directed to those in need and will include education in public health, maternal health and child mortality, primary and secondary education, biblical studies and ethics, adult literacy, permaculture and construction.

The field of education and experience that our team brings with them is developing. Our first step towards permanent presence in Latin America will take place this summer 2010.  As we learn from the people and develop mutual trust, we hope to show that we are in this together and their pursuit of liberation will in turn liberate us.
