At the Institute we are interested in right thinking. We believe right thinking must be rooted in an ethic that seeks the welfare of the oppressed. Our Biblical Studies program is a rigorous exercise in learning the scripture. We endeavor to explore every book of the Bible during the course of a student's tenure with us. We appreciate and practice all forms of hermeneutics including hermeneutics of suspicion and feminist hermeneutics. Our Missiology program is both academic and practical. Our mission paradigm is incarnational, and restless. Change in our world does not come by way of laissez faire. Students will be given multiple opportunities to experience first hand pioneering work on the mission field. G.O.D. International is currently working in Kenya, Uganda, India, Mexico, Guatemala, and the Philippines. We are working to serve in other nations such as Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Congo, Jamaica, Rwanda, Hong Kong, Japan, and England. Our Missiology program with an emphasis in linguistics prepares students to translate the Bible into native languages. We appreciate the research of academics and acquaint our students with their gains, their ideas, and their theories. We do not limit our students to a type of 'educational banking system' that is beyond challenge, refinement, or complete transformation. Our M.T.S. (Master of Theological Studies) is a two year 48 unit degree program. The M.T.S. Degree prepares students to impact the nation in which they live through theological insight applied at all levels of society. All of our programs require a great deal of reading and writing. Students will learn to present their thoughts in a coherent and cohesive manner. Students are prepared for writing academic papers in our writer's seminar class. Our community life nurtures learning and students are welcomed into the innovative process of growth that sharpens the intellectual development of our school. Int'l is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. This authorization must be renewed each year and is based on an evaluation by minimum standards concerning quality of education, ethical business practices, health and safety, and fiscal responsibility. |
